Working build = 4.3.51-r51242
Non-working build - 4.3.51-r51262
Host = Ubuntu-12.04 Guest = Mint-16 (both 64-bit)
Tried without 3D acceleration and the guest will display but very
sluggish due to software rendered 3D.

I see "Changeset 51243" Additions/x11/VBoxClient: make VBoxClient
--display use the new interface to the X.Org video driver.
Maybe I am missing something that is needed?

Log file of failed update included.

I'm sorry, but I have trouble understanding from your message exactly
what is going wrong. The log seems to show that your machine did not
boot up at all due to a problem with a saved state, but that doesn't fit
in with what you said about a "sluggish" display.

And did whatever issue you are hitting come after updating the main
application or the Guest Additions? The change set you are pointing too
is in the Additions.

Regards,

Michael

Good day Michael,

I do use saved state on that machine and it did start to a black screen.
I did a complete boot and it was the same, nothing would show, just
black, not even a tty window. I turned off 3D and booted into a tty
windows and installed the GAs, turned 3D back on and no change just
black screen. As for the changeset I showed, I have no idea what is
causing the issue but it looks like it is host side code.

Reverted to the previous build (51242) and it works great.

Attaching a different log.

Good day Michael,

The latest set of changes (r51319) seem to have fixed the issue.
